Who we are

This website, dryfusionedinburgh.co.uk, is operated by Dry Fusion Scotland Ltd, trading as Dry Fusion Edinburgh. We provide carpet, upholstery and exterior cleaning across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

We are the "data controller" for the personal information you share with us, which means we're responsible for looking after it. We handle it in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to quote for and carry out cleaning work. Depending on how you get in touch, that can include:

• Your name and the contact details you give us (phone number, email address, and the address of the property to be cleaned)
• Details of the job — the rooms, surfaces, stains, pets, or other information you tell us so we can quote accurately
• The content of any message you send us by email, phone, or (once available) an online form or chat assistant on this site

We don't ask for sensitive personal data, and please don't send us card or bank details by email — we'll take payment securely at the time of the job.

How we use it, and our legal basis

We use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
• Arrange and carry out the work, and contact you about the appointment
• Send an invoice and keep basic records of work done
• Respond if you have a question or a problem afterwards

Our lawful bases for this are taking steps at your request before entering a contract and performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in running and following up on the work you've asked us to do. We only send marketing if you've asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.

Online forms and chat

At the moment this site has no forms — you contact us directly by phone or email. If we add an online enquiry form or a chat/AI assistant in future, anything you submit through it will come to us and will also pass through the company that provides that tool, acting as our processor under a data-processing agreement. We'll update this policy and, where the tool sets cookies or similar technologies, add a cookie consent banner before it goes live.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing. We only pass it to trusted suppliers who help us run the business — for example our email provider, and (in future) a form or chat provider. They act on our instructions and only for the purpose we give them. We may also disclose information if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job records only as long as we reasonably need them — to complete the work, honour our re-clean and refund guarantee, deal with any follow-up, and meet legal and accounting obligations. After that we delete or anonymise it. If you'd like us to remove your details sooner, just ask.

Cookies and third-party content

This website does not set any cookies of its own. We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies, and there's no Facebook pixel or similar.

Two features do load content from Google, which can involve your data:

• Fonts. Our page fonts are served by Google Fonts. This doesn't set a cookie, but it does send your IP address to Google so the font can be delivered.
• Map. The Contact page includes an embedded Google Map. When that page loads, Google may set cookies and receive information about your visit, under Google's own privacy policy.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow this. Nothing loads from Google until you choose. If you accept, the map works normally; if you decline, the map is replaced with a plain link to Google Maps and no Google cookies are set. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings too.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. If we later add anything that tracks visitors — analytics, an embedded form, or a chat assistant — it will be covered by the same banner and we'll update this policy first.

Links to other sites

Our site links to places like our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Google review pages, and to our sister site dryfusionscotland.co.uk. Once you follow a link to another website, this policy no longer applies — have a look at their privacy policy instead.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
• Ask us to delete your data, where there's no reason for us to keep it
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
• Withdraw consent, where we relied on your consent

To exercise any of these, email office@dryfusionscotland.co.uk. We'll respond within one month, and it's free.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example if we add an online form or chat assistant. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. This version was last updated on 29 July 2026.
